Dr. Roossien, Jr uses many cutting edge genetic and molecular technologies such as genome editing, expansion microscopy and tissue clearing, transgenics and viral vector production to understand the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying the development of neuron circuitry.
Dr. Roossien, Jr teaches cell biology and biotechnology at Ball State University. His research investigates the molecular mechanisms of nervous system development. He is a member of the Genetics Society of America, the Chair of the Cell Biology Section for the Indiana Academy of Sciences, and is a Guest Editor for Frontiers in Neural Circuits. He enjoyed athletics growing up playing hockey, lacrosse, and racing motocross. He and his wife Lisa live in Muncie, Indiana raising their two young children.
Dr. Roossien started racing on a YZ60 after riding the bike only a few times. The next year he raced a KX60 learning the craft.
